Cris is the man to ask about jags. However, you're gonna need a big aquarium if you are considering keeping Arrowana as well as other large cichlids. And you'll need some pretty hefty filtration to match

To quote a famous film starring a very big fish

you're gonna need a bigger tank

A 5 or six for tank is not going to be much bigger than 125 gallons if it is a standard size. Arrowana can easily reach 2ft in captivity, the other fish you are talking about will reach in excess of 12 inches by themselves. I really wouldn't be thinking about anything less than 200 gallons if you want to give them plenty of room. However, finding a tank of this exact size might not be that easy unless you make it yourself, many of them come in standard sizes, aquariums big than 200 gallons are not really that common off the shelf.

Male jaguar cichlid's are aggressive towards other cichlids that look simalar, and the texas is a fiesty cichlid, jag's don't like fish that starts crap with them. Minimum tank size for both of these fish(to live togather) is a 90 gallon(in my opinion). Now, If you were to get the jag and aro, You will have to get a 180 gallons or more(depends on the species of aro) good luck!

a male jag can grow to an impressive size (anywhere from 16-20 inches) and have an attitude as big. they can and will turn aggressive to any tankmates you house with them so their mates have to be able to defend themselves. this means other large aggressive cichlids.

now a texas could make a suitable mate for a jag when the texas is mature until then its a gamble. jags grow considerably quicker than texas so if you get them as juvies then your texas could be in for a rough time. on the other side of the coin if you get a texas that is larger than your jag then the jag could be infor some trouble from the larger texas.

as for tank size you will need at least a 6 foot tank and it would also have to be wide enough for a mature jag. so you would be looking at a minimum of 125 gallons but things would be easier to handle if you go with a 180.

ans finally aros. well they can grow to be huge so research first and buy after.

just my 2 cents

I have a female jag and she is hardly any bother, defends her little bit of the tank but is not overtly aggressive, so i say go for a female jag

not sure where you get 212 gallon from but an 8x2x2 tank works out to 200 imperial gallons or 233 us gallons.
