Well i need some advice i was feeding my fish this morning and my black and white convict decided to go after my 8 inch pihrona well lets say the pihrona won this one the male convict has 2 big chunks missing from his back area i need some advice on if i should kill the convict or not hes staying on the bottom but yet he will swim around with the female he acts fine but yet he stays hiddin any advice on this? thanks

lol. why kill the convict? don't you know someone who could take care of him for you? or you could try giving/selling it to your LFS. Don't kill him, rehome him..

lol hes messed up man really bad he has blood coming out of him i dont know if fish have nerve endings but if they do he has to be in pain

convict is always a convict... and injury from fight won't matter...
it will survive.... just keep an eye on water to minimize chance of
complication.

I assume you actually mean Piranha? I would say remove the fish. Piranha normally pray on sick and injured fish, if your convict his injured then it is going to be very vulnerable

damage is fairly bad. do you have a hospital tank? if so put it in there and melafix asap. you could treat the main tank with melafix but it may make all the fish stop feeding for a short time. keeping your water in perfect condition will make things better. if your water declines so will your injured fish.

the convict is a big boy he trys to run the tank but no so luck hes with a red devil about 8 inches long hes the king of the tank. theres plenty of hidding spots for the convicts i got the convicts for free from a guy he gave me like 30 of them they worked great for feeds when i had my oscars and when the convicts where smaller only 2 lived and my luck it was a male and female lol and i tell u what the red devil and fire mouth like the fry they produce lol.. i have one red belly in the tank with them and he gets along great with all the fish but he wont put up with the little guys going after him dumb fish dont they relize he has teeth lol

if it was me id rehome the piranha as it will probz happen again and again. but thats just me. wounds altho look bad dont look life thretening to me so id leave it to heal upa nd give it a chance as amrcus says. just make sure yr water paramiters are as good as possible and shouldnt take too long
