My very passive Jack had apparently gotten tired of my GTs relentless cat and mouse game. She is always chasing him, trying to nip at him and keeps him in a corner. They have locked lips on a few occasions, but no real damage. Only she has sustained slight scuffing of her mouth area from the tussles.

Well, I went in there today, and she was hiding behind a rock. She also seemed a little frantic. I turned the lights on and Jack really showed his stuff, he started chasing her and was not giving up! He had his mouth wide open like "Ive had it up to here with your crap!"

So now she runs, and hides and he owns the PVC pipe that I think he has wanted since I put them in there last week. Its crazy to see my Jack pull a Jekyll and Hyde, I have never once seen her run from ANY fish, not even the RD or big Oscars. I think Jack put her in her place, and its good as long as no one gets killed. Maybe they may end up with a slight mutual respect with eachother...as if they even think logically.

But we will see!

i know keeping certain fish as tank mates can be hard, but a lot of people have success so we shall see.

Shoot. I'm praying!! She seems to have turned so docile today? Could thy be mating? When do Jack get mature? This just seems uncharacteristic of her to just lay around and put up with him chasing her. Her 'stuff' is out like she's ready to lay more, again. Geez it's only been a little over a week. She needs to stop laying eggs this much! I thought she would do it once a month, every week is ridiculous!
