Well I finally did it. I went and got an EBJD and right when I seen it I knew my big oscar would gobble him up in a heartbeat. So I went to the hardware store and got some plastic egg crate.

I then put two pieces together and overlapped them in such a way that it made the hole half the size. Because when I first tried to put it in, my EBJD swam right through it without a problem lol.
So now the holes are too small for him to squeeze through and hopefully I got a tight enough fit so that he can't squeeze through the glass and the edge. But it has been like that for a couple hours now and he has been trying to get through the whole time, so I think he's pretty much stuck. But I will be keeping a very close eye on him. He is too expensive for my oscar to eat lol.
But anyway I am very happy with my decision and I can't wait for him to get big enough to remove the divider. Which I know will be a while.
He is the most active fish I have ever seen, the ride home didn't phase him at all! Ever since I put him in the tank he has been swimming like crazy and I have even fed him already. He is eating and everything! Just like he never left the fish store. He's one tough little fish lol.
