jsvalenti created the topic: My Central and south American Tank

So I have been really bad about posting videos. I thought it was way too complicated. Here is a video of my 90 gallon central and south American tank. I just rescued the turquoise severum and two firemouths from some people on craigslist that had them in a tank with about 250 (at least)Africans. Its a little overstocked, but I am keeping a close eye on my water quality. (I know, I know!) Its so hard to say no when there is a fish in need. I will be putting some other videos up soon, now that I know how easy it is.

you might want to keep an eye for agression while it's overstocked. a good way to cope with this is add a large (high) piece of decoration that will give the fish a place to circle around to avoid eachother if need be.

other than that, one great looking tank :)

Well in this video I saw one firemouth, the severum, some silver dollars, a green terror, a fish one the right that i can't identify with this video size.
What's exactly your stocking ?

Its so hard to say no when there is a fish in need.

Well it is time for you to prove it. You are overstocked and your fish are in need for a bigger water volume, time for rehoming/another or bigger tank ???

I am inclined to agree with toni, rehoming fish in need only to create another tank with the same problems seems a bit problematic.

But ok, you say you're keeping on top of water changes, and I'm sure you have some plan for if/when aggression becomes troublesome.

I like your tank, they all look healthy :)

A little overstocked?? Your hearts in the right place, but you are going to have to re-home or get another aquarium or a much bigger tank; the GT is already showing signs of aggression towards the Severum. With that bio-load, you should perform 75% daily WC's just to maintain health, regardless of filtration.

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

Congrad's on saving the Severum and 2 Firemouth's they should add some personality to your tank . I know my firemouths do I love it when they flair there gills and there color's are great to.
