Not sure if Pacu fall into this category but that's neither here nor there. I've been watchin some Youtube videos and noticed that unless you have a HUGE square tank it is almost pointless to raise one of those! All the big pacu i've seen on Youtube have got to be miserable in the tanks they're in. Just an observation.

quite a correct observation, these buggers can get up to 3,5' long and 1,5' high. you'd need a pool or a giant giant tank to accomodate one properly.

i have seen people selling them as piranhas, could you guess the look on their faces when i told them how big their fish were gonna get... :p

190 gallon malawi

i fully agree... pacu grow fast and they grow crazily huge...
my one year old pacu is approximately 14 inches long with 10 inches
wide body... every passerby notice its size in my 220 gal tank...

agreed there are some fish I dont believe should be on pet market that are and these are one of them. The others being things like RTC etc.

They are really cool fish though. I'd be nice is they could be hybridized (i may have just made that word up? Lol) for the at home aquarium!

yea if RTC stayed like 12inches I would have one but they dont :)

And maybe we should leave some nature to nature.
