Caquetaia spectabile and Kraussi.

The spectabile are showing nice yellows and purples with copper hints. The kraussi are not showing much yet but will get very colorful with orange and greens.the caquetaia are gape and suck predators they like to hide and pounce leaving the prey no escape.

Spectabile

Krausii

These are a good size as well. The Kruasii get to around 8-10" with 8 being average and the spectabile get around 10. The Myersii can do 12" and then umbee at 24"+. They are all good fish ...so far. The Myersii is like a big yellow Oscar.

I gave them some blood worms and the Kruasii got a little color..they are barely 2" so the color is coming.

The spectate and Kruasii grow pretty slow to about three inches and then grow like an Oscar.

probably that and there is much higher competition for food from other fish at the same size; hence the faster growing fish gets the "worm".

or

once they get to that size, they are near the top of the chain as predators and have more access to better quality meal > other fish.
