Love those 2.. Tex will outgrow GT quite quickly, watch out for aggression. A GT is no match for an angry Tex.

Very nice herichthys-carpintis. There are two types of cichlids commonly referred to as green texas. I have the type you have and so far they are pretty laid back. I think the one suprd71 has is a "True Texas" H. cyanoguttatus and is way more aggresive. My female laid eggs today and I will start a thread on that as soon as the video uploads. I love these guys and they are very interactive like oscars.

nice fish! i have a green texas and a green terror in my 125g. they dont like each other, but have territories on opposite side of the tank.

Yup, that's a H. Carpintis, not H. Cyanoguttatus. Carpintis have larger, irregular spots, while the true Texas has smaller dots. I personally find the Carpintis to be the more attractive species, & don't care for the name Green Texas, as they are 2 entirely separate species., & leads to too much confusion

they are fine and very brave because they are attacking jags without any problem..
