WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

lol your shop doesnt stock much :)

30gals I think you could have GT or the Electric blue acara but really a 55gal would be better

Dovii, Haitiensis, need bigger tanks TBH I think most will need more space.

Apistogrammas you could have in 30gal or a pair of angels although again personally I would give them more room.

not sure on prices as Im from UK :)

whats a Guttatum?

I'm living my life, but not necessarily in the right order :)

1 balzani.

You don't need a heater for the tank since they need the temp to drop for 3 months to around 60f. You could add other sub-tropical fish like rosie barbs (about 8). Your dad would probably appreciate that the electric bill didn't go up that much since you wouldn't be using a 100w+ heater.

So if i decide to go 30 gal will 1 balzinie be fine ? i actually wanted them but i figure since they get like 8" they get too big for a 30 but if you say 1 will work ill def prob get one and maybe someday put it in with my O if my O doesnt exceed 12", but he should lol anyway are these common? also why do they need the temp drop? also their diets and growth rate? also since im in NC would i need to buy a heater for winter and a chiller for summer? exspensive?

Do not put a balzani with an oscar. The balzani needs a cold water tank during the winter, and the oscar will die when the tank hits 55F. If the temp doesn't drop, their body gets burned out and they die in 2-3 years. So every winter you need the temp to drop for 3+ months. Feed once a week at most during the low temperatures, like Spirulina flakes.

It will take a long time (over 5 years) for the MALE balzani to hit 8".

The Astatheros robertsoni could go in with the oscar if you had a 120+ tank. It gets too big for a 30g (10").

I think you spelled Ryhistoni wrong.

a pair of apistogrammas will look nice in a planted tank ~ again it will be 'ok' but need a lot of effort to keep it clean
