I havent a clue Lam. If dorsal shape is any indicator, I would say female, but again, thats a total guess.

I may not be the Boss, but I'm ALWAYS right!

Umbee pictures? Umbee pictures! :D

Sorry about the uneaten food in this one - we're leaving some in the tank to help keep the filter's cycle alive.

Umbee pictures! I can't believe how fast he's growing.

He's getting some lovely blue in his tail and dorsal/anal fins:

Taking up a lot more room under the driftwood than he used to. He's put on over 1cm since I brought him home, if not more. It's quite intimidating how fast they grow.

It's so hard to see, but the back of his dorsal fin is starting to get quite pointy too.

Thanks guys. He's still pretty shy of people, but he's started swimming up to the front of the tank to check us out if you put your finger on the glass, and he's eating like crazy. Just need to be careful not to make sudden movements if you want him to hang around, otherwise he just scuttles off to check out something else. We've stopped leaving excess food in the tank to keep the cycle going - not deliberately mind you, he's just eating everything.

I can't wait for him to get an extra inch or two on him. Water changes are a bit nerve wracking with a fish that size. He's just about small enough to go up the python hose, not just the siphon tube, and he has no fear of strange things in his tank. Ended up putting a stocking over the end of it when we were done siphoning the sand to finish draining water lol.

Little Ganon certainly is growing! Soon he'll grow into the big boss he's named for!

Right now, he's just so adorable! I can't help but giggle at his name at this size... which I know I'll regret when you get me back, and in about 6 months when he'll be staring me down, saying... "Food? Food?"

Keeper of the Food Pellets of Malekith the Never Accursed, Lover of Bubbles and Airstones, and Beloved of the Rogue Violetta.

Throw yourself in- use the wrong words, try different foods, kiss random fish. It's an adventure!

Short video of GuapoteMel's Umbee pair (& Dovii)......shoot a video of your guy so I can see him/her more clearly, then I may be able to sex him/her.

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

I've seen that video before :) that guy's fish are just amazing.

I'll get a short video of him in the morning if I have the time - lights are out for tonight.

An interesting thread I found: www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?378650-LFS-save-Male-UMBEE
Not sure how accurate it is, but the guy says:

"i don't know if the smaller one is 100% male i'm just guessing based on how many freckles it has on it's gill plate as we're in Australia and with the generation of umbee we have here a good sign to go by in sexing them is male = more freckles, female has very few -http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=376141"
