hi can anyone please tell me how long it takes for a electric yellow cichlid to reach 5"? and also can these be kept in the same tank as oscars:)

i believe they grow about a quarter the speed of oscars, if you were to keep it with an oscar i would provide many hiding spaces and atleast a 150gallon tank.

I don't know about their growthrate, but i read they are pretty laidback and non aggressive.
I suppose they could be tankmates with oscars, as long as they are well sized and do not fit into the mouth of the oscars.
but i may be wrong, so better wait for the members with real expierience in the subject, for i never had these fish myself.

By that you mean Labidochromis caeruleus right? or better known as the yellow lab.

The Yellow Lab can and most likely Will be a light snack for your Oscar!

well i had a yellow lab and i had to get rid of him because he was so aggresive my oscar was seven inches and the lab was about five and he turned my oscar into a lil baby my oscar used to be pretty agressive but ever sence that lab he is more mellow lol but yes yellow labs have alot of teath you can see it in there little mouths but yes labs can be put with oscar but its allways hit or miss with oscars lol good luck to you
