You see articles like that all over the place. In fact I think they just get copied and recopied all over the web. There are many similar crappy ones on ehow.com
That's
exactly why I posted it.
My personal favorites are:
"After setting up the aquarium, it is best to wait a couple weeks to make sure everything is in order."
"In order?" So, the ammonia fairy is gonna pay you a visit at some point during the 2 weeks you spend wasting electricity?
and
Add only one or two oscars at a time. Biological filters need time to accommodate new inhabitants and changes in the water.
'Ok, I got it. Thx. I'll make sure I stagger it so I'll just add 1 and 2 today, and 3, 4, and 5, tomorrow to my recommended 30 gallon tank. Oh wait, the rule is 30 gallons per oscar
soooo...I
guess 60 gallons for 2 works out.
I love how 'concerned' the author is with insulating the plastic bag when bringing the oscar home to put...in an
uncycled tank. Oh wait, I forgot I waited a couple of weeks for everything to be 'in order' first, so it should work out just fine.
BTW, my Peacock cichlid oscar looks a little funny compared to my other peacock cichlid oscars.
