Hey guys I have a 10g Tank thats just sitting here. it has been sitting here for a while now setup and fully cycled. I want to put some feeders/fish I can share with friends Like guppies or mollies. Question is what should I get? What would be better for oscar? which fish has more fry and are easier to care for?... These are some of the general questions I am faced with. If anyone could Help me choose I would LOVE to stock this empty fish tank ASAP...

Cheers Matt

Welcome Matt...

I am currently starting my own feeder tank - anxiously awaiting my mollies to give birth. You will find people on here that do both mollies and guppies. I think both can produce plenty of wigglers for you. They both breed like crazy. For me, my O's like mollies the best for some reason. I put mollies, guppies and rosey reds in the tank all at once, they INHALED the mollies first. Not sure why but that was how I decided.

I do have 2 guppy tanks but the oscars eat those guppies like they're M&M's.
No real nutrition.
And i didn't like the sight of the guppies hiding all the time from the big fish.
So the guppie breeder tanks have turned into community tanks, and i only feed frozen fish if i feel the need.

breeding them is easy, but their growth rate is slow.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

I personally like guppies more. mainly for their color. its all up to you though. pretty much all feeder fish have no real nutritional value so when/if i feed feeders its a rare treat. like one or two a week. the fry to tend to grow slow but live foods suck as baby brine shrimp and microworms will make them grow a little faster.
Current Tank Setup:
30 Gallon (will be upgrading very soon!):
-One Oscar (Watchmacallit) 7-8inches
