so i got 2 crawfish and i want to get rid off them, cuz they annoy my oscar, only cuz hes really small they nip at him. i think i might put them in a seperate tank and breed them but if nobody wants to buy them than theres no point, maybe i can sell a few to a pet store but ohh well, they will be treated badly there.
so yea... anybody want some crayfish near Ft. Lauderdale, FL??(rough calculation of position)

I had a crayfish (Rodger McCrunk *don't ask*) that came with my larger tiger oscar (someone dumped them both at the pet shop) so we put him in with our tank and he was fine for a couple of week, in fact he became a family/friend favourite with his quirkyness and everyone loved him.

But one day we saw him attacking one of the syno catfish and he snipped the most inquisitive oscar on his dorsal fun.. (luckily we rescued the catfish just in time because they do eat fish... but we didn't think he'd try it on with them as they're quite big.. and the oscar has healed perfectly fine) so we decided to put him in his own tank with some bogwood and a cave and used the same tank water we had from the large tank with heaters, filters....

He was great for about a week... then he kept rolling on his back and looked really ill so we thought we weren't doing the best by him, so we took him back to the pet shop (reluctantly) and they gave us two cichlid parrotfish as a refund but i loved my crayfish and wish I could have done better by him.

(btw, just read you have two together, don't know if you're aware but they're territorial and will fight if the tanks not big enough so maybe breeding them isn't a good idea in one tank??? they're good pets though, i don't see why anyone with the know how of how to look after them wouldn't be interested. )

take them to the nearest canal, lake , or river. that should give your crayfish a fighting chance. maybe they would like it if you called them crawdads.

haha nice, ill call them crawdads for now on, and hybrid911, they have never fought, they actually hide right next to each other and eat together (perfect couple! haha )

and i just had a stroke of insight, at my school, if u bring in a fish tank with LIVING animals and keep it there for a while u get like a 20% extra credit thing, soo im gonna buy a small tank, (not really small, just enough to hold) and use them and if they end up breeding, they have no enemies execpt for each other, than i can bring the tank home when its done and yea... use it for the crawdads or a bait breeding tank or whatever i want haha, the extra supplies will be nice too
