Yes, the Leaf fish. These are South American predatory fish that can get quite big, they do you require live food and can be troublesome if mixed with other fish, especially smaller fish. These require special attention and can be sensitive to poor water conditions, they are not really for newcomers.

Well, they are definitely predators. He purchased 10 smaller neon tetras this morning, and all 10 were gone within 4 minutes. They are hungry little buggers, and they are FAST.

He bought the tetras, because they did not respond to the frozen food this morning. Guess it is time to setup a guppy farm :-/
I wonder how often they will need to eat if they eat live food.

that's one of the problems with these fish, it may be very hard to get them off live foods.
I saw them for sale last year and decided to investigate before buying.
That's when i found out that they are very aggressive in their feeding behaviour.
Have you seen the mouth on these fish?
It's of incredible size, when they engulp their prey!

i was tempted to get one and put it into my wife's comm tank.

I watched this NatGeo video last night:

They are incredible fish, and they destroyed these tetras in the same amount of time as shown in this video.

He is OK with feeding them live food, as long as they only eat, say 1-2x a week total. He can gut load them I guess.

They are some of the niftiest fish I have seen.

nice footage.
Smart design, and incredible to see how it floats sideways @1 minute into the video.

cool fish but will be expensive to feed with all that live food, also the feeders will need to be quaranteed. If you have to have a tank running all the time to do this best breed your own
I can't get no sleep
