In this case the Clown Knife's Eyes are bigger than it's Stomach. And it's throat and it's mouth for that matter. I put my Brown Bullhead Catfish in 125 gallon tank hoping to grow them out so that they wouldn't become Koi food this spring when they were transfered to the pond. I didn't expect there would be a problem with my Clown Knife because it refuses to eat goldfish that are half the bullhead's size. I was wrong. I guess this guy knows that catfish are really tasty. Unfortunately this was his last bite. The Knife is around 14 inches long. The fish lodged in it's mouth it about 5 inches.

You can not be serious... is that common? For a fish to try to eat something to big and choke to death on it?

I am guessing the fish got stuck in the knifes mouth and it couldnt get any water through the mouth(and thus through its gills) so it would of been a lack of oxygen that caused its death. sorry for your loss

damn thats a nice fish, ive never successfully grew a knifefish they are so delicate. he killed himself and took some1 down with him. bummer.
