Thought I just share with you guys.

I was just feeding my fish and I left the hood open while i went in the other room to feed some other fish. When I came back in the room I stood in front of the tank and the ground felt a little wet, and, low and behold, my bichir eel jumped out the tank and was looking up at me. He was probably out of the water for 3 or 4 minutes but he looked ok with being out of the water. Anyways, I picked him up and plopped him back in the tank, and he swimming around normally. I know bichirs have a primitive lung so I wasn't too worried, but I thought I'd share anyways.

Glad you were there! I lost one of my first Oscars when he jumped out while we weren't home. I learned that I needed a heavier cover on the top of my tank!!

I've heard those Bichirs are notorious for finding ways out of tanks. Good save there.
