just bought six fish to go in my latest planted tank.
shop said they were mackerel barbs. they`re very unusal looking fish very active. cant find any info on these fish so im guessing they have a different name, i must admit they dont look like barbs more like giant danio bodies with anchovy heads!!! will try and post pics but any thought on what they are or if they are so called mackerel barbs any info?

Almost sounds, from your description, like a rainbow fish.

i dont think its a kind of rainbow fish as the fins dont resemble any kind of rainbow fish.
the nearest pic ive found is the indian glass barb. but head shape and colour are different;)
