angel fish usually grows very slow and they swim like
floating fish. i have come across in one article, they
also need around 5 gal of water for every inch of fish body.
so while still juvunile, you can have 6 angel fish in 180L
tank with good filtration. actually 9 if you did not give
allowance for growing up.

What external filter is it you have?
and lik paul said, you could have 8 in there, but i wouldnt go more than 6-7 because some of them do grow big,
also, you mentioned tank mates, what tanks mates will these be? and what sizes?
you dont want to overstock the tank.
is the tank cycling now or have you already put some angels in?
if so, i hope you have cycled the tank mate.

i have an eheim 2234 yeah the tank is cycled its been about 2 months now since it finished cycling. I have 2 angel fish, waiting to take delivery of 2 pure black ones as for tank mates i was thinking of a couple of corys a rainbow shark and a spotted cat fish

them tank mates should be ok, but i would get no more than 6 angels, that way, if they do grow large you'll still be covered with water space.
because like i said before, an overcrowded tank is stress for all the fish.
did you mention what your water levels were like?

Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 20 and PH 7.5 so do you reckon its worth getting a second external filter

i may be wrong but i think the eheim 2234 does 200 litres and you say your tank is 180 litres,
basically you can never have to much filteration and they says its best to have double what your tank is, so you'd need about 360. maybe it'll be a good idea to get another 1 yeah, have you got any in mind?

im not really an expert on the filter side so maybe your better getting a second opinion of another mod, im sure 1 will be in here shortly to let you know.

i agree with glen a second filter is never a waste to have. now angels are no near as messy as oscars but if can i would recommend a second filter for the tank. im not personally overly fond of tetra filters and would lean towards one from the top three maker if i had to buy(eheim, fluval and rena) . the only reason is that i have, in the past or now, have owned these filter brands and have yet to have any problems with any of them.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!
