Ed is right on.....marine species....but to the best of my recollection, they are EXTREMELY delicate, VERY expensive (I think maybe $130 for one small one!!),do NOT do well at all in captivity, & are NOT for novices. (Now, my memory of them is from 20 years ago, so tech may have improved to be able to keep them, but all else holds true) Also, you would need a 300GL aquarium just for one, because they get huge, some species getting 28" long!!! Also, they are difficult to wean off of live food, like shrimp....just FYI. B)

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

The LFS I goto had a bat fish.. REALLY tall had it in a huge tank. Not something I would imagine the average fish keeper would have

Thanks for the replies guys! I would never keep one, just wanted to know the fish! It's beautiful. Does anyone know if it comes in any other colors but orange and black?

Wow, what a beautiful fish. My lfs has a variety of this fish(silver and grey) in stock pretty much all of the time. The usually stock them in a brackish section, but I have seen them in with fresh and saltwater fish. I think they get pretty big and require a lot of effort to keep long term.

These are two of the fish I see all the time, that I may one day attempt to keep.
