Hey guys,

I've been offered a a bare 6x2x2 for £110 ($184) delivered! The only problem is i don't know if my floor could take the weight. It would be on the ground floor in my dining room but I don't have concrete flooring so I'm a bit worried.

I currently have a 110 tall and a 55 on the wall I would be placing it against. I would obviously have to move the 110.

Do you think I would get away with only filling it 3/4 and thinning the stock just to be on the safe side?

Glass? or Acrylic? If acrylic, you should be okay filling 135g of water. Are you unable to go underneath the house and put support underneath?

I live on a hallow foundation, like there's a crawl space underneath the floor, because I live on a hill, you can hear the floor shake when you walk over it, I have a 150g and took my chances and it has been there for a year and it's doing well! Lol

You could also put a piece of plywood under to better distribute the weight. Something like 3x8.

That's a great idea. Might give that a try. The wife is wanting me to wait till we buy. She seems to think that I'm not getting a bigger tank as I will still need at least the 55 for growouts or hospital tank. Told her that when she goes out to work and pays the bills she can tell me what I can buy and not buy.....Man that couch wasnt comfy =P
