Hi I know this is a Oscar site but this is one of the better fish sites I have found. I was wondering if 2 Firemouth Cichlid and a Rio-Negro Pleco would be okey in it

No, thats too small. Think this way... thats about 9 gallons max per fish. Would you keep any of those as a single in a 10g tank? Although FM are small, they are still a moderately aggressive territorial cichlid, and do need adequate space to thrive. Not even counting the plec, i would recommend 45 or 50g minimum for a pair of FM

I've always kept bigger fish in bigger tanks, so to be truthful my knowledge on the little guys is very limited. Options are plenty I'm sure, dwarf cichlids, shell dwellers come to mind. You could do a handful of small Africans. Some other members should easily provide some good suggestions for you. Good of you to ask first, rather than doing it wrong then having trouble. Good luck!

Go all out and get something different

- some smaller types of Puffer fish
- get some small fish and some rare / odd L-Numbers
- more of a community tank with some different fish
- Rams / Bolivian Rams

Haku, I knew your were good.

Its not a cichlid but rainbow fish species are very good looking.

i was going with what Ben stated ... go out the norm for puffers ~ a planted puffer community tank would be interesting.

I kept dwarf puffers in a 29 gallon planted before and it worked well. 29 gallons just isn't big enough for medium sized cichlids like cons and firemouths.

Go do a water change - the solution to pollution is dilution.

i have bad experience with Rams ... either it's me or they are super sensitive. but i wouldn't mind getting my hands wet with puffers ~
