Hi I have just set up my new bigger tank for my oscar, but I am after some unique ornaments, like big statues of like ninjas, characters from games like skyrim or like a devil and a god statue on each side. I have looked all over the internet can't find them that are fish safe. Can you get your own statues and have them coated or something?

I suppose that just goes to show you how many people put this stuff in their aquarium :-)

Of course you can put your own ornaments in, as long as the material they are made of doesn't corrode or is made of rock that will have an effect on your water chemistry, you could find something you like.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

Hey there.. I can appreciate you wanting to make your tank look cool. BUT, you must be aware of the composition of anything that goes in. You also want to keep as much swim space available as possible. Avoid sharp edges and pointy corners. What really works best for an Oscar is rocks and wood. Cave structures not necessary, Oscar wont use them. They do like to hunker down behind something when sleeping, this is where he will like a couple big rocks or a hunk of driftwood.

I may not be the Boss, but I'm ALWAYS right!

It's 75g with an oscar and a plec. Been looking and they are made out of resin or glass usually. Have found some really smart glass ones but just worried about the paint on the glass. Might just end up getting a clear glass one.

"It's 75g with an oscar and a plec"

I wouldn't put much of anything in there @ all.....a 75GL is bare minimum for an Oscar by itself, so you are overstocked right now.....that Oscar will need all that room....With 2 fish that are prodigious waste producers, I would worry more about water quality than decorations, which really are unnecessary & will take up tank volume.

I'd just like to emphasise the no sharp edges stuff. It's really difficfult to have a decorative aquarium with an O. They either destroy it, or themselves on it.

Personally I'm down to bare minimum of blunt driftwood to avoid missing chunks of flesh.
