I agree, it took me 2 months to realize that there was no way I was doing this Oscar thing with pitchers and buckets. This thing has been a life saver.

They move so fast, but you can kind of see them! Let the cycle begin!

I used 6 Danios to cycle my oscar tank and now they are in my community tank. One of them got sucked up the intake of my HOB filter and miraculously survived without a scratch. Very hardy fish.

Do the Pythons work on any faucet? I have weird hardware on mine. Certainly would make things easier!

They sell a universal adapter. Task a pic of your faucet

Python sells various adapters, but I haven't bothered to check any of them since I bought this one:

www.amazon.com/Python-Universal-Adapter-for-Aquarium/dp/B003...d=1406152243&sr=8-1&keywords=python+universal+faucet+adapter

It's basically a thick rubber sleeve that fits around your faucet aerator. It works well for me and only takes seconds to slip it on and off for water changes.

YMMV.

Good to know this exists. This will work on my faucets, which don't have any threads.

Once this tank is cycled can I put these giant danios with my oscar for a bit?

I kept danios with my oscar for a while before moving them to my community tank. They were quick and did fine for the time they were in there. They will eventually become snacks more than likely, but are cheap enough and certainly keep the tank busy, if that is something you like.
