Poseidon2.0 created the topic: Godzilla Pleco

So I rehoused my common pleco who use to live with Poseidon into a tank with a school of GDs and a trio of German Blue Rams until I figure out what to do with him. I had built this cute little "village" for the GBRs to live in, but recently the pleco has gone Godzilla on it and decimated it numerous times, either knocking over clay pottery or completely covering them with substrate. I think he wants a better position on the hunk of driftwood I have in there, which is his usual hangout, but I have never had a pleco move substrate before. He uses his tail as a steam shovel, so to speak. Kind of wacky.

Plecos can be super busy at times, especially at night of course. Make your sand all smooth at night, go to bed, get up in the morning, with the tank light off, stand on the opposite end of your tank where there is some natural light shinning in and look at the sand. Every square inch of exposed sand will have pleco tracks. They look like lines in the sand everywhere, I assume from the bottom of the tail fin. You cant see it with the tank light on, or at least I cant, but with the light off and the natural light coming in(creates a shadow) they stand right out, especially if you can see in your tank from an end panel.

Go do a water change - the solution to pollution is dilution.

Kinda like this?:

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.
