This has to be the finest stand I have ever built B) . It is not much to look at, but it is very solid, and temporary since I need the materials for another project I hope to add some fish tonight, but may not get that far.

I forgot about the piece of wood that will probably end up in the tank. This is a piece that my dad and I collected on a local waterway. It is most likely cypress, and may be hundreds of years old. So far it has had a hand cleaning, power washing, and good soak in city water. The plan is to treat with vinager, then boil, and drop it in.

Very cool....what are you putting in there?

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

Stand is looking good Rob, I have that same piece of fake root in my 100 gallon stock tank on my deck.

"For anyone who does not know better, this is not a good stocking situation! All of these fish get 24"+ and will soon outgrow this tank. I will either have a huge tank in the coming months or none of these fish. Anything less than a 600 gal+ tank will not house these fish for long."

In the short term, it will be Meat loaf (rtc hybrid), Sylvester (lima), and Bullet (silver arrow). In the long term this tank is either for Ben (midevil), or an oscar. The "pond fish" are all about 6" right now, so I have a couple of months to either build my indoor pond or re home these guys. My plan is a 6'x10'x30" plywood build, which should get me close to 800 gal. Obviously this will be a huge financial, and time commitment, but I want to do it. The firs step involves cleaning my garage out and discarding all the junk. Then I have to accommodate the 10 running tanks, the 100 gal, the dovii upgrade, and some beefy filtration. Also I want to upgrade the plumbing out there to facilitate water changes. It is a bit overwhelming, but except for water proofing a big tank I have done it all before.

Meat Loaf is getting acclimated, and the others are soon to follow. The fish were all in separate tanks, and all were due for wc. I did my usual 75%, but filled very slowly trying to get all tanks at the same temp. My thinking was that this would be less stressful on the fish, however trying to catch fish in a full tank is not easy, and probably causes them more stress.
