Shame on you!

Ive done that before with my puffer. Its because of the stupid tube heaters in the tank. You have to turn them off because you are lowering the water level too much. On my 72g bow and 210g tanks I have the Hydor ETH in line heaters and just leave them on since the canisters are running during my water change. I need to hurry up and plumb my FX6 into the 72g with a hydor and then I can have my Eheim 2217 for the puffer tank and be able to do a in line heater for him too.

Rob I cant believe I forgot about that one...
Only reason why I noticed is because I put some romaine lettuce in the 150 and when I dipped my hand in the 55 zeus' tank to give him his share it was freezin

David that just way to much work for me lol

yeah the custom plumbing is a pain on the FX5/6 but the Eheim is a breeze with the in line heater.

Frank, when it comes to screwing up a simple water change, I think I am in a league of my own! I had a bichir literally making its way across my living room floor after a large overflow.

Pffft, hahaha oh dear.

I haven't left a heater unplugged, but Mr Lam has done it twice. Temp got to 22 - 23C (~74F) for one of my RDs. He also left the filters and heaters off for Henry and Adie overnight (we unplug everything because we take the water below the Fx5 inlet during a w/c). Good thing it was a starve day that day (so negligible ammonia) and we didn't lose the cycle in the filters.
