So Im setting up a different home for my Oscar and need to figure out a background. I have black on my 210g and love it and a picture type on my 40B and love it too. The tank that is being replaced was acrylic and it too was black. So the new tank is just a standard 75g but Im at a dilemma, do I go black or a picture?

What do you guys think? Are pictured backgrounds cheesy?

I like the mural backgrounds, have a few. Do not like the way they bubble after a short while. Used the Seaview and Clearview adhesive, neither held the background flat for more than a couple months. Painted several tanks after that, blue with black gravel is a good look. Also did a blue/green mix with spray paint on my 125 Dovii tank. Looks kinda natural I think.

I think i will likely do a black background but sometime I just like to look of the pictures. Im shooting for a simple natural setting. I have been debating if I want to keep my Lapis Lustre sand or go with something different. I should never have got the new tank...

I like the picture backgrounds but I hate how they look after a while when water & air get behind them. 2 out of my 3 tanks are painted black and if it wasn't such a pain in the a## to break down the 120 and move it away from the wall I'd remove the picture and paint that as well.

I used to attach my backgrounds to foam board cut to fit the tank then put it on to help keep it flat...it was kind of difficult though with some hob filters if they had any parts that stuck out towards the glass then I'd have to cut a little hole out of the foam board so it could sit flush...thinking about doing this again so I can add a background that looks like branches hanging down onto the 130 without having to move it

fade from black on the bottom to dark blue up top, should create more depth.

I like the one you have pictured, but generally I like blue or black backgrounds. Since I took pretty much everything out of my 125 I have thought about flipping the background, so it does not look like a desert. I assume it is reversible so.try it out, and see what you think. Who cares what we think, you have to look at it everyday, you can put disney figurines in there, and I would never fault you on it.,

 Will do! Is it okay to mix Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo?

I bought the one I pictured along with one called underwater cave which they dont have a pic of on their website. Im leaning toward underwater cave but my light sand just seems to throw it off.
