Cobweb-Forests created the topic: Axolotl?

So I went to petco yesterday for some fish food and I of course had to look at all the fish! So looking around right before I leave I see four axolotl! In goldfish tanks. Based on my research, that's not the best idea... They had almost no gill feathery things(I don't know what they are called). Anyway I have a ten gallon with guppies and snails in it and I have a friend who would like to steal my guppies. Do you guys have and pros or cons against axolotls? Any advice for me? :)
I hope I am posting this in the right spot!
Thank you

Edit: It seems I was unclear in my writing! I am very sorry for the confusion! I am NOT getting 4 I don't have enough room haha! If I was getting one (ONE) that would be it! Sorry for my lack of explanation. 4 in a ten or even twenty gallons would be absurd. Very sorry for the confusion!

I don't know much about them, but I do know they can grow to about 10" -12" and a ten gallon tank would not be big enough for the life of one never mind 4 of them. They don't come out of the water but they are a messy amphibian so I would assume a decent sized filter on a 20 long (?) would be a good starter set up for a single specimen.

Edit: I found this on Google. www.reptilesmagazine.com/Care-Sheets/Frogs-Amphibians/Axolotl/

Hello

An clearley no, there are some factors like temperatures because Axolotl need lower temperatures between 50 to 68 F degree but this is all manageble, in your case the footprint of an 10 Gallon tank is even to small or an single Axo. For a group of 4 you need an ground space of at least 40 x 16 inches somsomething in the 50G region

Oh I think you misunderstood me! No way am I getting 4! I was only describing the situation at the pet store they had four of them all with goldfish!
This site says for a single adult a ten would work same with your site. I am very on top of my water changes. I actually love them haha

minimum size would be a 45 cm long aquarium (US 10 gallons) for one adult.

You should distinguish between optimal and minimal. You could also survive in an room minimum 5 x 5 feet in diameters all alone for several years but i don't think you would like it.

Axolotl like to live in groups also not bare bottom and the Problem on this small tanks is that they susceptible for temperature switchings depending on the room.

I have one! I didn't plan on getting one but a friend was moving and couldn't take it with her. I have mine (Medusa) in a 30 gallon tank. I've read in a few places that a ten gallon is fine for one but I wouldn't agree. Here is a picture of mine...

It always looks like they're smiling.
