Hi to all, my son Rowan has got himself a 20 gallon tank & wants to breed Guppy's. I have never done this before so advice would be appreciated.

My males are more colorfull are smaller and have longer tails.
I got some guppies a friend of mine didn't want anymore.
To be honest all I did was some fresh water now and then.
Upon cleaning and lowering the water they spawn and spawn and spawn.
They can give birth for several times after one conception.
The females become fat before giving birth and they are live bearers.
So keep looking for very tiny fish.
I never took any out and the parents don't eat the young.
I put all of the in a spare 18Gl and there will be more!
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

guppies need little attention. with clean water and good
food, they will multiply like mosquitoes. the fry readily
swim upon birth.

ive got a constant supply of guppys for my oscars i breed them purely for live food there is no mistaking a male guppy from a female male has a coloured over sized tail when the female is about to give birth the males in the tank will not leave her alone you can see a black spot in her stomach when it is taking up most of her stomach put her in a breeding box the fry will filter through a trap keeping them safe belive me unless you have a heavily planted tank for the fry to hide in theyWILL 100 % GET GOBBLED UP

My oscar eats them like M&Ms!
Not as a primarily foodsource.
Those gups grow slowly.
Takes several months to become snacksize and powerfull enough not to get flushed into my filter.
I think the parents not eating the young may be an exception.
Forgot to mention that(THNX, Jonny!)
