due to our locational differences, i have decided to post what kind of
feeder fish we have in my place. locally known as "kataba", some people
call them archer fish or scientific name "toxotes sp"

@Noddy, that greenish floating fish is called kataba in my place... and we have
plenty of them in most water tributaries here.

Nice! Looks like a cool community fish too.
The Panchax are used as mosquito control in a lot of countries.
I got the Panchax to breed them as feeders, because they spawn easily and grow fast.
Got all the info i needed, got the tank, got a couple of fish........
And fell in love with their personality.
They love to interact with me and I can't say that about all communityfish.
And couldn't do it!
Ain't I a pussy?
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

Noddy, don't feel bad. Through talking with several members on here I have found a LOT of us feel guilty for even feeding night crawlers! LOL. Me included.
It's NOT smart to piss off the girl with the BAN button!

wow, those archer fish are amazing, I can't believe people use them as feeders. In case anybody doesn't know, they are called archer fish because they fire a waterjet from the mouth to knock their prey out of overhanging bushes

My dad said his mate used to keep archers. He wouldnt feed them for 2 or 3 days and then they would tie a piece of silver foil to some string. The arhcers would spit water at the foil and hit it every time. One day i will have a tank with some in. If i remember right they are brackish water fish
I can't get no sleep

Ok, didn't know they were archers.
I got a very old aquarium book and it says "that it's fun to keep a burning sigaret above the tank, and the archers will spit water on the sigaret..."
Now that some advice your won't find in the newer books, i think.

the real archer i know is the aro. my friend who has an aro in his room
slipped on the floor because of aro's spitting which he first thought was
due to splashing. we only realized that when we have some beers watching
the fish and a bug stopbye on the rin of the tank. the aro keeps on spitting
water over and over thing that he could hit the bug beyond the lid of the tank.
