a few hours ago, i posted that my wife wants to have an arowana. well,
after taking dinner my wife and grand daughter take a walk around the
community....and guess what happen... 45 minute later there was floating
bag in my tank....WHAT CAN I DO? i have to accept reality....i am in trouble
to keep the fish in good shape. 15 minute later...here he is....swimming
atop my Survivor in 90 gal tank....i will be forced to set up the other tank.

for a 6' x 24 x 36....instead of 24 x 24 as originally plan.

yes its hard to say NO. Silvers do grow a fair bit bigger than reds, around 3ft I think. You can never tell what size the fish will grow in a tank though. It looks well, is it feeding yet. Mine will only eat crickets and meal worm. Will try some worms as soon as I get them. if it isn't moving mine will not eat it. Once it is happy I may try to starve it so it will eat pellets as well. I am also starting a breeding program for meal worm and crickets. I will also start a compost for worms too.

i have spent some time trying to find info on arowanas. To be honest setup wise its much the same as oscars. recommending 2x filters(very large FX5 or Ethiem pros) 5x2x2 for min tank size, and people seem to be getting away as we oscar owner have with 3-4" tank mates. i just ordered a wave maker(12oooL powerhead) as they like currents and strong flows. Mine seems to be a cleaner eater than oscar too with little waste.

actually, i don't need to say NO. what she did was just buy it by herself
and put it in my tank. i have no choice but to give attention to that
