I can't speak for the goldfish; but I've often seen danios in community tanks at multiple fish stores; making me think they can withstand higher water temps. My fish book I have at home says they can withstand temps from 65-78 degrees F.

I would imagine a period of gradual acclimation would be key to moving them into warmer water - raise the temp very slowly and gradually over a period of time so the fish doesn't get shocked.

i would think so. i see goldfish and koi in small ponds in yards here and it gets pretty hot in the summer, i would think the water would be atleast 80. they seem just fine.

Hey Tony, as long as it is a gradual increase they all will be fine. My Koi are in a tank that is a steady 80 degrees. the only thing is, when they are in warmer water, they eat more.

actually, gold fish thrive well in a tropical country like ours,
thus, there would be no problem keeping them at 80 deg F....just
make some adjustment to acclimatized the fish before releasing.

This is true, warmer water increases the fishes temperature, and sometimes energy. Causing a increased need for food.

X2...I had a koi in a tank that was kept at 78-80 degrees and he did fine...but did eat like a pig compared to when I had him in a cooler tank.
