hello fish people... just want to get your assistance in finding the right name
of the fish which are in abundance in my place. we normally called them "pla pla",
a carp family, easy to raise, grow fast and taste good.
here are the pictures:

Can't tell you.
On the other hand look at this beauty.
Worlds largest growing carp in the world, The Pla Carp.

Now I'm gonna get my rods quickly and head over to catch me some of those babies!

true, that's the fish that came up on Google.
But that wouldt be the grouper or bass family, not the carp.

tilapia are cichlids, and there are about 40 species of them lol. so an exact id could be difficult.

lol paul has mentioned practicing the commercial use of tilapia before, for food, or atleast taking a class on it, so i think he should know this fish. i think he is just testing us.

nope...as i have said, it is called "pla pla", the pale version of tilapia
here... and they grew faster than the dark tilapia that i knew.... besides
what we get in the raising tilapia seminar is purely raising them in cage or
pond...how to manage feedings, harvesting, and marketing. we did not tackle
different species. in the same training, we were not encourage to produce
fries, unless you want to be a supplier.... our goal is to produce tilapia
to have an alternative source of income and to have foods...thats all...

and i was surprise to see noddy's post on pla carp.

OK, so if we can guess outside the carp family, i vote for Win's nile tilapia!

or more specific, the blue tilapia:

Nice fish.
Now Paul, do you have those fish at home or did you see them somewhere.
They're actually nice fish for in a big showtank, IMO.
My big aquarium book mentions them too.
Been looking into tilapia for aquariums, but they seem not to be in the hobby around here.
Found these Paratilapia though last week.
You tell me what you think of them, but I sure would like to see one of those swimming with my O!
