The same thing happened to me a few months ago, I got a 20 gallon tank that had various small fish such as tetras and a few small barbs. A couple of them just disappeared totally, never found them, didn't even find any bodies. It's very strange. I think that your plec could possibly be responsible. A lot of these are nocturnal so active at night whilst other fish are sleeping. Something may have happened and he could have eaten them. However, the finish could just be somewhere in your tank only haven't found the bodies. How do you clean the tank? Are you quite sure you haven't sucked them up when cleaning the tank?

I don't think anyone can really answer your question. It is one of those things that is going to remain a mystery, maybe you'll solve it one day.

Hehehe .. this one sounds familiar.
In my daughter's tank there was the same thing happening sometime ago, she had a group of small tetras in there. I had to put an angelfish in temporarily, and during that time, the tetras went missing although we never witnessed any chasing or hunting. So my bets would be on that one. Only had plecos in there though that were smaller than yours so I wouldn't say I'm sure.

you've got an angelfish?, I did wonder what you meant by angle. Well they do say don't mix angelfish and Tetra like metoo has already mentioned, I think that possibly could be your problem.

Hahaha, now I see that finally, I think my mind is so focussed on fish that I automatically read angel

A large angel fish can and will eat fish the size of neons. Also if the fish just died and the plec is decent sized he will do a good job of eating at least some of the dead fish. Also other fish will pick at dead bodies. Its very easy for a small fish to die in a community tank and just disappear
