Has anybody got any experience they can share in this area?

My S.D's are always spawning so this time I've harvested most of the eggs and removed from my Oscar tank into my 65 litre quarantine tank which is currently vacant.

Egg's looking fairly healthy today (day 2), still orange colour in the majority with a few cloudy but no fungus or furry ones yet.

Believe the eggs should hatch in 2 - 3 days from what I,ve read on the subject, wondered if anybody has experience on feeding / raising the fry? (if they hatch out!)

I have got a couple of SD's but they have never bred before. So I'm sorry, I can't give you any benefit of experience myself. Check this link out, it's not really telling you much more than you already know I expect

mmmmm... not looking too good, some of them have hatched but the majority of the eggs have developed fungus.

Can't really remove the fungal eggs without disturbing the live ones, so not too hopeful this time.

I imagine our fishy parenting isn't as good as the real thing. I wonder if next time that happens you could put the parents in with the eggs. I'd just get a really big Rubbermaid tote, because I dunno how big your SDs are, but I'm sure they'd be pretty ticked in a 65L tank. lol Do SDs parent even? I know some fish spawn and "walk" away, but a lot of tropical fish actually stick around. Guess I should have researched that before posting huh? lol

When mine try to breed the female lays the egg while swimming and the male sprays and fertilizes the egg, so i would guess they are egg scatterers and dont care for the babies. This is my guess and i am willing to be corrected
