actually, when my wife brought it home, i noticed that something is wrong with
the shape of the body but since it was still small then, i didn't pay too much
attention...but this night...while sitting there with beer in hand... i did
notice it and took my camera to take snap shot...indeed...it is crooked...
more than 12 inches crooked aro... i take it as
unique...not with sickness since it grows fast too...

Reminds me of a cat we used to have when I was a kid. His tail got caught in a door when he was a kitten, and it made two 90º bends in his tail at the end.

I say if he gets along okay, then he should be fine. Hopefully nothing is internally messed up and he lives a nice, long, dinner-table-free life.

he had double the size, thus i believe it is genetic... i will still keep him.
if he grows and crooked up to 90 degrees...that would be cool

I have searched through some stuff i got on arowana, here is all I found.

SPINAL CURVATURE - This is most commonly seen in Silver and Black Arowana. The causes are most often malnutrition when the fish is young or injury. Since the problem usually starts when the specimen fish is young a full recovery is virtually impossible. Carefully check your fish before purchasing. If you do find yourself with one and a decent environment is provided, it will rarely die from this deformity.

sorry Paul, at least if you don't mind it too much its not so bad. if you do mind at least you have grown a decent sized meal. lol.

Maybe you accidentally spilled some beer in your camera and you and your camera got drunk. Does it still look like that in the morning?
Does he have a name yet? If not, why don't you call him "Boomerang"?

All kiddings aside, that's really unusual.. Got no experience keeping Aro's but that's one of a kind.
When I'm good, I'm very good.. When I'm bad, I'm f*ckin' better.
