well, where do I start, a mate of mine rang me tonight and said "I have a present for you Tone?"... err what are you talking about, I said... I recently helped her empty a pond in her garden, which we did 2 weeks ago, it was pretty much empty, with a small amount of dreggs in the bottom..
Today she sold the pond to some guy from out of town, who came to collect it.... he tipped it up and to his surprise saw a fish, hidden in the algae and weed that was left in the pond.... assuming it was dead he went to tip it out and it moved.....
it turns out that the fish was indeed alive, it had survived FREEZING temperatures, NO WATER, so nothing to swim in, a mad dog and a 3 year old lad lol lol.... for over 2 weeks...
so, ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to introduce you to ALISON, ALI for short coz shes such a fighter lol... (named tonight by me and a dear friend)
she is believed to be a DOJO LOACH, or WEATHER LOACH... I have rehomed her in a small tank I have that has just a few danios in, but, if she survives the change to positively tropical temperatures, she will be the first esident of my new tank in the wall....
I cant belive she survived, but she did, so I'm hoping she survives and kees fighting...
