I have an Aunt who owns a fancy tailed gold fish and the damn thing has something seriously wrong with it. The fish has major trouble staying right side up. It is always upside down. I'v been told it has something to do with its float gland. If ya'll know anything about this please help so I can get her fish right side up lol thanks

for sure it swim bladder infection. very common with fantails and fancy goldfish. treat asap with interpet swim bladder cure. the longer you leave it the least chance of survival. also buy aquarium salt as the 2 work together.

Yes, treat the fish.
On the other hand i know a woman who has a goldfish that is allways top down on the bottom.
He's been that way since she bought him 10 years ago.
Upon feedingtime the fish will come up and swim upright and eat.
Then he'll rest on his back again...

I have had one that does exactly as Noddy said. She lived about 5 years.. She was fine at feeding time, and other than that she was upside down. I would say. try and treat it, but if you have no luck(I didn't) then just let her be!

if its been like that for that amount of time and hasn't died then I would say leave it as it is. swim bladder treatment isn't a soft treatment and has risks. if its lasted a yr i wouldn't bother, when you posted i thought it just started to act like that ))))
