I have read a few treads as to what you could do about holiday feeding. 1st I would say get a friend to do it if possible, if not here is the auto feeder I use.
I use a garden pond feeder as most tank feeders are nowhere near large enough for oscars. The Velda 1000ml auto feeders comes in 2 models but the 1L model is more than enough for the job. 1 litre pelltet bottle, timing device and all wiring comes with the unit, plus ground stake and fittings. cost £90-$180 ish. its expensive but its weather proof so the extra cost makes sence. you wont need it to be weather proof of course but not much we can do about that. the best part is the timer. it can feed your fish upto 8 times a day with the amount you choose. this is from 5ml to 100ml per feed. it will only feed pellets to a max size of 6mm and thats perfect for oscars. a 5ml feed gives your fish about 16 pellets, a 10ml feed 32 pellets and so on.I choose 5ml once a day because if you are away you wont want to over feed. it works fine and is reliable The only down side is price.I have looked at tank feeders but they just dont feed enough for a 2 wk holiday. This will feed your fish for a month or more. Shame it cant change the water too.
Buy from Aquacadabra tel: 01322345242 Uk kent. Or ask one of the site adds on this site, I am sure they could order one for you.
I put a picture below and a set of car keys to the right to give you an idea of size.

I've never used one of these automatic feed this before. Can you program them to feed every other day? If so, that is what I would do if you are going on holiday for more than a week, reduced feeding will result in reduced nitrate build up which is obviously an advantage if you are not around to do a water change.

Seems all timers go on daily not every other day type timer. this one has prob best timer as food amounts are adjustable, smallest is 16x6mm pellets. I looked at many others but most oscar owners have large tanks and the nearest next best thing was the "Tank mate P21". this was £32 but would feed 1 pellet over a timed amount. ie 1 pellet every hour or longer. there isnt a lot about if you have more than 1 oscar and a large tank. Eihams do a nice one £22 but not enough for oscars.it says 2wk feeder but only holds 100ml of small food (this should work on paper but measurments dont work in practice). would at best last 5 days I think. as a genral feeder for a tank of 1 oscar plus 2 mates I would say "tank mate P21" I would also say as with most items dont just look at tank equipment as pond equipment maybe better suited with large tanks and fish. I plan to do 2 water changes over 2days before I leave, with filtered nitrate free water. I know Nitrates will be high on return 60% ish I think so will return home to water changing. Great))) If anyone has a better feeder maybe they would write it up for others. Its the right time of yr. No timer will not repace a person though.

Nice review. If i ever find myself without someone to feed my fish i think a timer feeder will do the trick
