TOPIC: Beleive anything?

I saw the US economy mentioned here. The US economy is still the best and most diverse int he world, it's not growing at as quick a pace as it use to, but it is still hands down the best in the world. Wall Street? You can't go around the world without hearing it. New York city is the capital of capitalism, the economy is not in shambles like so many believe. No you can't go get crazy loans like you could in the early millennium and the 90's but I think it's better that way. You'll have less people going into dept, but the majority of Americans live a healthy and happy life under the terrible US economy. There are more home OWNERS in the United States alone then in most of the world combined. The economy is not bad, people just can't run credits like they were enabled in the past. Now you just have to be responsible. The so called failing economy is simply exaggerated by the mainstream media so that they have something to air. Seriously look at things collectively and don't believe everything you read or see. It's apparent that less then 3% of Americans read anymore...No wonder we are so gullible as a nation, the economy isn't a problem, Americans watching too much TV is. A failing economy is the 1/3 of the world population that goes to sleep hungry. Not the Americans that can't get approved for their 20th credit card.

Good point Codeman...I guess a lot of us lose sight of the fact that even with our economy in a recession we are still much more fortunate than a lot of people around the world who struggle just to survive until the next day. Do I like the recession? No...but i've learned that there are much more important things in life than "stuff". I battled cancer at age 22...so not that long ago and it really made me realize that everything you have can be taken away so quickly...makes you appreciate life alot more. I was fortunate enough to beat it and have been healthy for 6 years now. Material things can be replaced but some things cannot...I do still like my "toys" but they are not as important to me as they used to be.

You also make a good point about people thinking everything is going down the crapper because they can't take out more credit...like you said at least people are starting to be forced into responsibility.
