Can I hazard a guess and say they are common 'Amazon swords'

I put some plants in my kitchen tank a while back three varieties Limnophilia, Bacopa and low gravel plants Hemianthus. The latter withered and died after a few weeks but the other two are rooting and shooting of some spurs.
They are in my 'setting up an Oscar tank thread'

The limnophila's are the best looking plants in the tank they have'nt lost any of their colour and are rooting very well

unfortunately you {and myself previously] have been duped. these lovely little liars are called "gold ribbon plants" and despite their packaging are NOT truly aquatic plants. they are instead a variant of 'lucky bamboo' and should only be grown emersed not submerged. i'd take them out before they rot.

so sorry!!

Hi spittle welcome...

Are you talking about these ones the 'Hemanthius'

Yes, you are correct one of them has lost all its little leaves and was looking grubby so I binned it the other is not good at all and it will probably go in the same direction lol

hmm. i don't think i've ever heard of 'hemanthius' but if that's what they're called great! i was referring to the two striped-leaf plants in the foreground. the ones whose stalks have sections just like bamboo.

i bought some just like these a while back and THEN did the necessary research. that'll teach me.
