the plants i have in my tanks are Microsorum pteropus and Anubias barteri.
i've used fishingline to attach them to a piece of wood(root).

Hi Smikeb:

Glad to see someone trying plants with Oscars, let us know how this goes with yours. My Anubias Barteri did very well with my Oscars, I removed them due to the dirt they ended up with (no Apple Snail live long there) but they totally ignored them either attached to driftwood as you are or potted; the other plant I am not familiar with, hope this works for you.

As since December 13th, I am trying Hygrophilia (potted) and some floating plants; my Oscars co-exist well with Vallisneria, Tropical Hornwort, and Anacharis (though Anacharis seem to like higher levels of light that I keep in that tank); the first two do better potted -go figure they ignore most potted plants but do their thing -Oscar free-styling aquascaping- if I let these out there attached to a stone with a rubberband (and I don't want my tank glass damaged by "flying" stones).

Fatal attempts (for the plants) so far: Swords, Anubias Afzelii and one plant I haven't been able to identify yet.

i have geos and acaras in my tank(without live plants) and i havent noticed them attacking or trying to destroy the fake plants in my tank. the oscars however are a different story.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

my goal is simple a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all

i haven't noticed the oscars destroying any plants but i guess that the hardest part is when they dig.
