I tied java fern to screen I have pix. I plan to plant my other plants this way too. For my swords I think im going to sandwich substrate inbetween the screen to replace my flower pots. and plant them in there. What substrate is best for them?
How should i do this with anubias?

Are these plants in with O's? If so they may get shredded by them, if not now, then later on in the future.
As for substrate I find that many different kinds work provided you give the plants what they need. - the correct lighting for that specific plant
- fertilizers ( food) for the plant
- and a source of CO2
I have grown plants in pool filter sand, play sand gravel and flower pots filled with peat. It just depended on the plant you wish to grow and how hard it was to grow in the first place. Anubias is quiet and easy to moderate plant to grow and tends to have very fleshy roots that take hold very well in a tanks substrate. Another widely used substrate is Seachem Flourite.

Nice! Word of warning, though. I don't know about your O, but my O's favorite hobby is moving around the rocks and plastic plants in the tank. ;) Hope your O leaves them alone. :pinch:

We have had our Groucho (Tiger O) for over a year now...have watched him grow from 2 inches to pushing 11 inches! LOVE watching him swim around in his little 55 gal world. We also have a fancy goldfish and a black moor in a separate tank. We love our fishies!...[IMG]
