Thanks Roxy :) I am a horticulturalist by trade and realize that is not the normal way they grow. They had the twisted one wrapped around the 2 straight ones for selling appeal I guess :)

Yes I do want straight ones. I'll have to look elsewhere for some, but this customized one will do for now and it is definitely appealing to see :)

Yeah they are nice, but i`m sure they will grow in straight lines from now on unless you keep turning them. When one gets long enough you can cut it off and stick it in some water till it gets roots and plant it in your tank. It will grow straight upwards after that towards the light.

Is this right Small Fry? I just had a bit of a google but got bored too quickly LOL

I want to get some and try it if it will work :)

Oh and i also read its not bamboo but actually a lily

yeah that is what will happen. They have been manipulated to grow in curves or weaves for selling appeal. Normally they would just grow straight up. Unless it was a twisted bamboo that naturally grows in a contorted manner through genetics.

"Dracaenas are a family of over 40 varieties of shrubs and small trees, many of which are commonly grown as rugged, low-maintenance houseplants, including the Dracaena sanderiana, sold as "lucky bamboo," and the corn plant."
