gorgoroth created the topic: best plant ever to get a tank cycled

i bought this plant (Ceratophyllum demersum) yesterday, it was 50 cm, so about 10cm from the water surface, woke up today, came downstairs and found it lifting it's head out of the water surface. Thing grows like a beast and it's a nice oxygen plant, swallows loads of nitrates and other baddies in the tank :)

hope you guys benefit from this info in any way

quick question: do you have to pump co2?

there's a bunch of those growing in my local pond...can i just grab those and stick it on a drift wood?

i have no CO² as i only have 4 plants in the entire tank, as far as i've noticed in my tank it will grow no matter what. So yeh, pull some out, give it a nice quaraintine (few days in a tap water tank) and you're good to go.

i'll post some pics when the plant gets bigger. (if my O's don't destroy it first)
