hi i was wondering if i could keep java ferns with oscars and if so how do i plant them



what other plants can i keep ecept java moss

i also have silver dollars in the tank

Well, you can try a java fern, but you may not have success, especially in a tank with silver dollars- they'll likely eat it.

If you want to give it a go, you want to root the java fern on a piece of driftwood as opposed to planting it.

i had java ferns in my tank, i attached them to a root using a fishing line. unfortunately the oscars still destroyed them. but i still think you should try it. maybe you have better luck.

i don't think that java moss is suitable in a oscar tank.

anubias is the only plant that have survived in my tank.

I have been told that african cichlids wont eat the java fern. does any one know this for sure. I dont trust my LFS

I'm learning not to trust mine either. You gotta remember their job is to sell you something and some don't care what they have to say to do it. I can't even have live plants with my tetras, they ate the plants as they sprouted. I don't have any Africans but I answered you anyway
