yes, that they will. But 'soak up nitrate' is a relative concept, if you're heavily stocked the difference won't be as big as you might want it to be.

yeah I not sure you will see the impact you want ... but to be honest I cant quantify Xft2 of water lettuce will use X amount of nitrates per day you know

Well I am over stocked for sure right now but I'm going to give away 3 green terrors soon, but the floating plants are More for looks then filtering I got some wood to put in the tank hopefully ill have time to get that stuff ready

I bought 15 on ebay here are a few. The other floating plants come tomorrow I like the mini water lettuce

probably should have stuck to water lettuce and avoided the salvinia,it doesnt look as clean and it will be what gets sucked into my filter. :pinch:

so far one overflow has nothing in in but the other one has a large enough hole to get plants in it. I think i temp. fixed it but it doesnt seem to get sucked down just floats around the top over the overflow so it shouldnt cause and issues.

why are they not sticking to the overflow is it a week current towards it ?

It's built into the tank and it doesn't take water from the top so it doesn't flow over. And when some got in it doesn't take the water from the surface there either
