tjwalley created the topic: Sugestions?!?

I'm wanting to add some live plants to my tank for looks as well as function. I'd like some tall "stringy" plants as well as some shorter thick and bushy as well. I like the sword plants and some of the sprite (i think that's the name) for the shorter ones, but i've tried them a couple times and they dont last long. I even bought a bulb that was "made for" planted aquariums. Question is, what are some kinds of taller "sea weed" looking plants? And also any tips on keeping the sword plants alive and looking good would be great too

keep them alive with oscars very hard but not impossible ... the key lies in number get LOTS of them

what are they planted in?

How many fish you might need ferts for all of them !

Vals grow very very tall all the way to the top of a tank and then wave and look great !!

The O's i have now are only a couple of inches, will they still tear them up at this size? I have 2 O's a dempsey and a pleco, all of those are under 3 inches at the moment. And i also have a bigger pictus catfish. And i just have black gravel for substrate.

I'll check out the Vals, sounds exactly like what i'm lookin for!

With the Vals plants (or any plants for that matter) is there a certain depth I should bury the roots at? Or does it not really matter?
