K so I've got a question, I have this Lilly bulb that I've had for almost a year now and it's still living but it only grows only two leaves and they're very small. Does anyone know why this is?

A couple of questions -

How much light does it get?
(describe your tank lighting, fluorescent bulbs/wattage/amount of hours on during the day, also if the tank gets any sunlight)

What substrate do you have?
(also please say if you have any root tabs or other plant fertilisers in there)

Do you have any algae?

What fish are in there?

I have three flourishing lily bulbs, and one that is just starting to take off. One now has 5 lily pads on the surface, two have large, underwater leaves, and one is putting out more leaves but is still kinda small.

Ok so I have one foot and a half long fluorescent light, I think it's 12 watts but not quite sure, no sunlight.
I have just regular gravel, I think that's what you mean by sub strait, right?
Yes there's algae but there won't be for long and I don't think that has to do with it cuse even when I had my pleco and there wasn't algae it still wasn't growing. My pleco died a couple weeks back :( and since theme the algae has grown pretty fast but that's getting off track.
I only have my Oscar in there right now.
I also have another Lilly that is growing great and some other plant that was actually producing more seeds/bulbs from it.

the other lilies are in the same tank? Could be that this one is just a weaker plant, especially if the others are doing ok.

Could your oscar be hassling this specific plant? Have you tried moving it (gently, re-bury the roots) to a different spot? Maybe a bit more directly under the light?

You can try burying a root tab right under it (your local pet shop should have these, just ask).

If I may ask, what are your water parameters?

Yes there all in the same tank, it could be just a weaker one. I don't think my Oscar is messing with it too much and I had just moved it about two weeks ago. Ill go try to get some root tabs soon though. I'm not to sure of my water parameters becouse I don't have a test kit.

At one point a long time ago it was giving off other bulbs, could that have anything to do with it?

give it time, they don't much like being moved. It could have something to do with giving off other bulbs - exhausted its own energy supply.

If the root tabs don't help (make sure to bury them thoroughly) then this is just a weak bulb. Since your other plants are doing ok, clearly your set up can support plant life.

Ok yea, I think it is doing better after the move already, I can see the roots coming out of the rocks that were once buried. Also I can barely see the beginning of a new leaf

sometimes they just need a little time, both of mine were growing great and now one just has a single little leaf and thats it but it will bounce back
